Angles- Group 4

A. 100 degrees
B.80degrees
C. 100 degrees
D. 80degrees
Total 360 degrees

Maths Today

My group found out what an angle it was hard to start but then Adam and Emma M found out that we were meant to use prodrogram and in the middle there is a line and it is really easy and you line it up and then you see by adding and then we can see.
It is really easy and I think you should have ago. I think you should have ago its hard to work it out but you wll find it easy

Angles- How to mesure them

Angles- How to mesure them
Place the Protractor on in the middle of the line and and follow the line you want to mesure from the outside and follow the angle you are mesuring to the protractor. The number that lines up with the protractor is the angle.
To check that they are right add up the angles and they should equal 360

Angles

Angles

Triangles must have 180 degrees in it
squares have 360

An angle is the measurement between to joining lines
It is also something that is on an angle (E.G a line on a 90 degree angle)

Elise, Penny And Christie's Maths Game

What you will need:
One whole deci pipe
10 tenths of a deci pipe
10 hundredths of a deci pipe
One bead chain

Instructions:

1. Player 1 gives player 2 some deci pipes including at least 1 tenth, 1 hundredth and 1 thousandth to make a three place decimal

2. Player 2 uses the pipes that player 1 gave them and puts them on the whole pipe and shows player one what the decimal number is on the number fan.Remember to explain why. eg: 0.537 because there is 5 tenths on the deci pipe so you put the 5 straight after the point. There are 3 hundredths on the pipe so I put the 3 in the hundredths column. There are 7 thousandths on the pipe so the 7 goes in the thousandths column.

3. Using the beads player 2 shows the decimal number. Remember the beads will not show the thousandths. Take away the thousandths from the number. Eg. .256 will turn into .25.

Maths Nicky and Emma How to play our game

How to play our maths game.
What you will need:
Red beads (20 of them)
Yellow beads (20 beads of them)
Blue beads (20 beads of them)
Green beads (20 beads of them)
or any other beads that you can find. And make a number with it like... 18..
Wire
And yourself brain ready to count

How to set up the game with your 80 beads mix them up randomly and try not putting them in a certain order then when your finished putting them on you are almost ready to start.
Now the numbers
Red=1
Yellow=6
Blue=10
Green=20
Or any colours you put in make a number that you think would be good

How to start the game:
The leader puts her finger on the beads on just say yellow yellow red green then you would add them up which would because you add it up in total as I said before it has yellow=6 red=1 blue=10 green=20 so that's how I would get it. =33

Then it's first to 3 and then who every wins three times gets to have a go being the leader then when it's someone else's go and when it is there turn you have to pick it and it is really fun when you all have a go.
Hope you enjoy our game!

Maths

You need:
At least two Number fans
100 Beads
At least 3 people

How to play:
1. You need to choose a leader and at least two people with the Number Fans.
2. The leader turns there back around so noone can see and makes a decimal number, then quickly shows them the number and people with fans have to make the number with Number Fans and tell them the number quickly.
3. The people with the fans have to try and get as many right as they can, then the first person who has got 3 right gets to be the leader.

Understanding Decimal Numbers

Answer these questions:

  1. What is a decimal number?
  2. Where are they used and how are they useful? Give at least 5 examples of decimal numbers in everyday use.
Game:
  1. Collect some maths equipment and invent a game which challenges people how to do one of the following: put decimal numbers into order, add/subtract, multiply or divide decimal numbers.
  2. Write instructions for your game, making sure you explain how the game develops your mathematical understanding.
  3. Include in your instructions how to make the game more challenging or interesting, as well as how to simplify the game to make it easier.
  4. Post it to the Team 14 blog with a label of Maths. If you are not from Team 14, get one of these people to log you in so you can publish.
These games will be used again for the benefit of others.

1. What do you do when the first numbers can't be subtracted from one another?

2. When it doesn't work how do you get the negative number?

Feedback for team 14 maths

Christie Kate- I think you got lots of responses and it looks like how the got the information went round kate and Christie think the teachers didn’t mind but if the did it in a bigger group they would of done it in a different way to get there feedback what would i do differently i would make the bar grapgh prettier.

Alex and Krstina-What was the best part in the perfomrance? found out most people like the finaly didn't do the data what they found out least populast was the music total 225 get it done on time and get the total.
Did well with what was the total of each thing like the music was offeous.

Nicky thinks are presentasion went very well i think we could improve on not leaving it on a loose piece of paper

Reflection- Graphs

Today I did maths I did graphs it was fun. I alsodidn't have so clare.h made me toasties then I played with stliks at lunch time i got really good at going on stilks I had a good time because of this I got better at stliks

Reflection-Kate

Today I learned about probability, it is how likely it is for something to happen eg if you put 5 blue beads in a bag and 10 green beads into a bag it would be a lot more likley for a green bead to come out.

Because of this learning i can now learn about probability in greater detail and with different things.

The next step in my learning is to try it with different things like shooting hoops and you could get 10 blue balls and 3 green ball;s and it would be more likely for the blue ball to go in.

This week in maths I learned to do Algebra and i think it is easy but can be difficult I also think that I stil don't really understand this hole maths week but if I practice I will get it

Reflection-Maths

Today we had maths and we were trying out new things are Walt was Understand different kinds of patterns and I didn't really understand this I think I need to practice what it is and when it is handy to use. And i tihnk I need to use it and learn more about it.
I didn't really learn anything else but this is what I'm going to try learn

Daily reflection

Today in maths I learnt how to find out what number comes next in a pattern without going through and writing every number down. Because of this learning I can now understand how to get the answer quickly because I wont have to write it all down.
Something I don't understand is how to find out the next 100 or 1,000 numbers in a pattern.
The next step in my learning is to find out how to list all the numbers upo to 1,000 without writing every number down.

Maths Reflection

This week we have been learning how to draw polyhedrons and other shapes using sketchup and I tried drawing them in my book but I did not do it very well. On sketchup I learnt how to name the face, edge, vertice and corner of a polyhedron.

Because of this learning I can now make shapes on sketchup and in my book.

Reflection - maths geometry

This week I learned how to draw cubes, polygons and circles on sketchup and I tried doing some in my book. I learned how to name the face, vertice, edge and corner of a polyhedron.

Because of this learning I can now draw polyhedrons on sketchup.

Something I do not understand is how to draw them in my book because I always get the shapes mixed up and I am not sure how to count the sides.

My next steps in this learning are to learn the names of the shapes and draw them in my book properly and also I would like to learn how to draw more shapes using sketchup.

Reflection Maths Geometry

This was the WALT during the week: Describe various polyhedra using the language of geometry I learn't what shapes look like because I sort of forgot Geometry.
Down the bottom this is is also what it said: Using a ruler and pencil, draw a model of a polyhedron (shape) that has 10 vertices.

This can be fun if you know what shapes there are, otherwise it can be quite hard. Today this had to have 10 vertices! When I got told that I thought, "how on earth can I do that??"

I don't understand how to have a vertice and I'm still a bit confused. If I have practice I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. My next steps are to go on the internet and search up "Shapes" and learn some more shapes.
